History

IAU-Birjand is one of leading Universities in east of Iran that founded in 1985 as School for law, power engineering and Farsi literature. The journey from 1985 to 2014 has seen IAU-Birjand being transformed from what was once a small school into what is today a leading learning and Research University which is well respected both nationally and internationally. The University today combines impressive modern facilities and a dynamic approach to teaching and research with its proud heritage of quality services and achievements. As the years progressed, several more new faculties were established: faculty of agriculture, faculty of technology, faculty of humanities, faculty of law and administrative sciences and faculty of medical sciences. Nowadays, There are more than 103 different disciplinary for studying in under graduate and postgraduate levels. In addition to these new establishments, all faculties continue to further expand their academic programmes for both undergraduate and post-graduate degrees.
